Silver Economy Fund private equity vehicle of Quadrivio Group enters the world of outpatient diagnostics through investment in CareHub a project aimed at developing a network of outpatient services with a focus on different specialties. The goal is to create a group with a turnover of 100 million, which will become a reference player in this sector.
The CareHub operation was followed by the Silver Economy Fund team, led by Galeazzo Scarampi – managing partner of the fund, with the support of Stefano Malagoli – partner, Dario Di Iorio – senior investment manager and Oliver Ghezzi – analyst.
For legal aspects, Quadrivio Group was assisted by Bird & Bird, a Law Firm.
DETAILS OF THE OPERATION
Silver Economy Fund, which invests in companies offering goods and services dedicated to the Silver Age, will acquire 94.7% of Brexia Med a company led by the co-founders Alessandro Bartucci and Gianluca Santoro both with over a decade of experience in health development initiatives, together with Francesca Anselmi and Valentina Rossi both established managers in the healthcare sector.
CareHub represents the third investment for the fund, which previously acquired the majority of Siare and The Private Clinic, the first specialized in the design and production of electro-medical equipment for anaesthesia and resuscitation; the second includes a group of clinics based in the United Kingdom, which provide aesthetic medicine, dermatology and longevity medicine treatments.
The CareHub initiative is based on a model Hub & Spoke which adds some innovative services to the traditional outpatient offer, which involve the use of artificial intelligence in the patient screening phase. This model responds to the growing need for private healthcare services at a territorial level and will simultaneously guarantee a widespread presence in the territory, through the diffusion of high-tech spokes suitable for an initial screening phase. An outpatient and diagnostic facility is also planned, capable of guaranteeing first-level healthcare services and the highest quality standards. The project also includes an advanced organizational approach, which will allow the offer to be optimized and nurses and doctors to be valorized.
The diagnostics and private proximity medicine sector in Italy is currently experiencing a positive trend, also supported by the aging of the population, the spread of chronic diseases, as well as the greater attention paid to the topic of prevention. A market with very high development potential, but characterized by a high level of fragmentation. CareHub, with the support of the Silver Economy Fund, intends to contribute to the consolidation of the entire sector, supporting the development of this network throughout the country, through a buy & build strategy.
The integration of the most traditional and the most innovative outpatient services will be promoted, also using the support of artificial intelligence. The final goal is the creation of a leading player in the diagnostics and outpatient services market.
Alessandro Binello, group ceo of Quadrivio Group and managing partner of the Fund, stated: “As a team we are working to create a leading player in the diagnostics and outpatient services market. I believe that CareHub has enormous development potential and I am convinced that will be capable of responding comprehensively to the countless needs of an increasingly large, but currently still too fragmented, market."
Stefano Malagoli, Partner of Silver Economy Fund, commented: “We are very pleased to be able to contribute, through this investment, to the development of healthcare services in Italy. We believe that, thanks to the quality and experience of the management and our support, we could seize the consolidation opportunities in the field of outpatient services and diagnostics, proposing an innovative business model and creating a player in the sector characterized by proximity of service and innovation."
"We are proud that the Silver Economy Fund has chosen to support us in this project designed to try to respond to the growing need for quality local healthcare services. We believe that the speed of response to these needs is fundamental, and we are convinced that this partnership will allow us to accelerate its development and enhance its model”, added Alessandro Bartucci and Gianluca Santoro, co-founders of CareHub.
